What Is Up With That?

A lonely sign shows the way across the border.

As I think about the bank bailouts, the auto industry bailouts and take overs, congress throwing our money at this or that pet project, I can’t help but be angry.  So when I read this article I got down right mad as hell.  Janet Napolitano has been fairly silent lately.  I guess her first year didn’t go so well for her OR Homeland Security.  But she is talking now and lying through her teeth of course.  I call total bullshit on this one Napolitano!  If you are going to lie, at least make it convincing!!!

Budget Cut for Fence on U.S.-Mexico Border

By RANDAL C. ARCHIBOLD    Published: March 16, 2010

Citing a plague of “cost overruns and missed deadlines,” Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said Tuesday that she would cut millions of dollars intended for a high-tech “virtual fence” along the Mexican border that has produced little more than headaches for the federal government.

Ms. Napolitano said her department would divert about $50 million in federal stimulus money intended for the project to other technological needs on the border, including laptops, radios, thermal-imaging devices and cameras requested by border guards.

The article goes on to say that this was done just 2 days before a congressional hearing was to take place on this program.  And then we have good old Bennie Thompson who chairs the committee asking if they should scrap the whole thing.  Hell, we’ve scrapped most other laws, laws controlling the financial backing of corporations to congressmen, truth in advertising, U.S. Border Security, the borders period.  And this moron from Mississippi wants to wait and see if the whole thing is working first or not.    Wonder if we can suspend his pay until we know for sure if he is doing a good job or not?  Can someone smack him upside the head and ask him if there is anyone home in there?

If they were going to scrap some projects, why not the bonuses for the bankers who have been bailed out and who knowingly CAUSED the near total collapse of the financial markets in these united States?  How about getting our money back from AIG, Fanny Mae or Freddy Mac?  How about they stop squandering money on THEIR pet pork projects like:

Brooklyn, New York, and the Department of Veterans Affairs will receive about $352,000 to replace existing dumbwaiters. (a crucially needed project of course.)

Wyoming’s wildlife gets a $1 million deer underpass because the deer want a road too which they will understand and use…(I can totally understand why this is needed!)

Two Arizona universities received a combined $950,000 to study the division of labor in ant colonies. (Now there is a needed project don’t you think?)

One Nevada town will receive $2 Million dollars to build a fire house even though they cannot afford the firefighters…(Perhaps they just want to say they have one)

No. nine, Bozeman, Montana, is spending $50,000 to resurface a city tennis court. The project will employ two people for two days.

$15,000 is being spent on a storytelling festival in Orem, Utah. (Doesn’t anyone believe in putting people to work with this money?)

Allen Texas will receive $14,000 to replace door mats. (There is a worthy cause for sure)

$400,000 has been given to the State University of New York to study young people in Buffalo who smoke marijuana and drink malt liquor. Participants in the study will be paid $45 each to get stoned and drunk and report back how they feel.  (Sounds like a reason to move to Buffalo!)

A climbing gym in Boulder, Colorado has received more than $150,000 for a new solar panel array on its roof.  (Because there are NO mountains in Boulder to climb outdoors, Right?)

And the worst case of absurd spending comes from Harvard University where they received $9,3 Million dollars to produce mechanical honey bees which are supposed to monitor traffic and possibly even pollinate plants!

We don’t have the money to secure the border or protect the Citizens of this country from the hoard streaming across the border with Mexico. Hummmmm, did someone set off a stink bomb because it sure does stink to high heavens from here!  You are one fat liar Napolitano.

The Chinese built the Great Wall of China with little money.  The Great Wall of China has stood for thousands of years and served the purpose for which it was designed, that of stopping the nomadic raiding tribes.  Not high tech, but certainly durable.  The Chinese started building the wall in 221 B.C. And since there wasn’t always stone available, they used sand, lots of sand. I think we could find enough of that out in the desert, don’t you?  And there would be JOB CREATION involved!

The real reason they won’t finish the border improvements along the border is that Mexico wants access to these united States and Mexico is getting what they want.  And, of course, the federal government loves the conflict and division this situation brings to Citizens of this country for or against amnesty. It keeps us from paying attention to them. Therefore the feds and homeland security claim poverty and missed deadlines as REASONS for cutting the border project by $50 million in stimulus money.  Try incompetent management, dysfunctional governmental bureaucrats,  failed policies, botched plans and favoritism.  I’d be willing to bet that drug cartel money is finding its way into congress and the acting POTUS.  The feds can afford pork barrel spending but not protect We the People from the silent invasion of this country.

The feds whine that they can’t afford to build the fence but they can send personal protective suits, multi-gas meters, and related hazardous materials (HAZMAT) response equipment to Mexico as part of a bi-national collaboration!  The cost to tax payers?  Anywhere between $28.25 to $2,361.75 PER SUIT! At least 90 Mexican cities have these suits so far and more are planned to be sent.  But they can’t do that fence down there, oh no, that simply costs too much when they can give away our money to other countries instead.  And in this economy no less!

Historic HAZMAT Equipment Transfers Across the Border Region

Increase Sustainable Border Readiness for Disasters, Hazardous Chemicals Spills

As part of a groundbreaking first between the U.S. and Mexican governments, personal protective suits, multi-gas meters, and related hazardous materials (HAZMAT) response equipment were transferred to Mexico under an innovative Border 2012 bi-national collaboration.

These equipment transfers and accompanying hazardous materials response training are part of a bi-national initiative involving the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Mexico’s La Procuraduría Federal de Protección al Ambiente (Attorney General for Environmental Protection or PROFEPA), U.S. Northern Command (USNORTHCOM), the U.S. Agency for International Development, Mexico’s  Direccion de Protección Civil (Federal Civil Protection Agency), and the U.S./Mexico Border Governors Emergency Management and Civil Protection Worktable.

It seems that if the feds won’t abide by laws they expect us to obey.  Tired of having the criminal illegal alien horde streaming across the borders in Texas, Governor Richard Perry is asking that drones be released along his portion of the border.  After all, Arizona has them.

Gov. Perry asks for drones to help protect border

Perry said drug violence along the Texas-Mexico border is escalating. Ciudad Juarez, across from El Paso, has reported more than 4,700 murders in the past two years. Authorities believe members of a drug cartel operating there are responsible for two ambushes this past weekend that killed a U.S. couple and a Mexican man.
Since last fall Texas has stationed special teams of Texas Rangers along the border to boost security. The state has increased the number of troopers because of spring break which began this week, but the Texas Department of Public safety is urging students and families not to vacation in Mexico.

Why is it that We the People, the sovereign States, have to plead for what is our right, the defense of this country and her borders and the duty of the federal government to supply?  We can be pulled into illegal wars with Iraq and Afghanistan, but the feds refuse to fulfill the obligation of securing our ports and borders? Border security is NOT an OPTION for the federal government, it is an obligation!

Those who live in the States bordering Mexico know just how needed the fencing is. But those in congress are too far removed from reality to remember they have responsibilities and obligations to We the People.  As proof of how things stand there was an article in January that covered the fact that border guards were over-run by Mexicans.

Guardsmen overrun at the Border

According to the Border Patrol, an unknown number of gunmen attacked the site in the state’s West Desert Region around 11 p.m. The site is manned by National Guardsmen. Those guardsmen were forced to retreat.

The Border Patrol says the incident occurred somewhere along the 120 mile section of the border between Nogales and Lukeville. The area is known as a drug corridor. Last year, 124-thousand pounds of illegal drugs were confiscated in this area.

See? No need for any fencing which would have really inconvenienced these drug cartel stooges or whoever it was.  Come on Napolitano!  How do you sleep at night when you lay down with pigs?  (No offense meant to real pigs)  Do you really mean to tell the American people that pork spending is more important than securing the borders and ports of this country?

And if you think it is just along the land border, you would be dead wrong.  Here is a little story that didn’t get much public attention when it happened last year.  Apparently, even the Homeland Security Port Director is guilty of harboring criminal illegal aliens:  Is there any wonder why we have a problem?

February 3, 2009

BOSTON, MA – The suspended Boston Area Port Director for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection was indicted today in U.S. District Court for encouraging and inducing an illegal alien to remain in the United States.

LORRAINE HENDERSON, of Brittania Circle in Salem, Massachusetts, was charged by Indictment this afternoon for encouraging an illegal alien to reside in the United States knowing, and in reckless disregard of the fact, that such residence was in violation of law. From 2003 until she was suspended in December 2008, HENDERSON was the Boston Area Port Director for the Department of Homeland Security. She was responsible for overseeing all of the international ports of entry in Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island, including Logan International Airport, T.F. Green International Airport in Rhode Island and Bradley International Airport in Connecticut.

Now, these united States COULD easily stop all this bullshit from occurring. Detention would be the first step. It isn’t as though the feds don’t have PLENTY of potential sites to hold these criminal illegal aliens in, think Camp FEMA! Let’s put that space to good use instead of the candy-assed treatment these criminals get. If they know they will be detained for possibly years if caught, they might think twice about coming here.

In the meantime we’ll have to put up with the way things are.  I can’t stress enough that it is up to WE THE PEOPLE to do this, the feds are in bed with Mexico right now.  No help will come from the feds.  Some really good clues that someone is here illegally will be that they cannot speak English.  I don’t care what nationality they are, if they don’t speak English fluently they are either here legally or illegally.  Some important numbers to remember or write down:

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)

Visit ICE Website.

Contact ICE Field Offices.

Local and State Law Enforcement
Contact information for your local and state law enforcement agencies should be listed in your local phone book. These agencies understand the local crime patterns and can provide great assistance to you. These agencies should be encouraged to do as much as they can to make sure illegal aliens that are arrested for crimes are then processed by ICE. Cracking down on illegal immigration reduces crime rates in areas where local police have taken action. These websites might help you in your search.
