Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. The Constitution

This is only a story, but what if?

Can you imagine, you’ve just had a baby.  Tears of joy fall softly as you hold your baby and look down in wonder at what you have helped to create.  It’s almost time to get dressed, to take your new baby home.  You are so filled with wonder.  So in awe of what has occurred.

Then the nurse walks in and tells you she needs to ask you some questions.  Just a few for their records.  You smile and say sure, no problem.  The questions are fairly simple and you answer them all.  You wonder why you are being asked some things, but hey, who cares?  You are going home with your new baby!

The nurse excuses herself and tells you she will be right back.  They only have a few more tests to do on the baby.  You are so happy you don’t even notice that the nurse isn’t smiling any more.  All you can think about is soon you will be going home, just a few more hours, and your new family will be together!

When the nurse returns she isn’t alone.  One nurse takes the baby while the other, along with a doctor who has just come in, starts to examine you.  More questions more intensely asked.  You figure out that something is wrong.  The doctor says you can’t take your baby home as you might be a danger to it.  You start to freak out a bit, what are they saying?  Hurt my baby???  No way!  But the doctor is telling you they aren’t going to let you have your baby now, that they will be keeping it here for the time being until you no longer pose a danger to it.

You struggle to understand, what is happening?  How could this be?  Why aren’t they going to let you take it home?  Who says you are a danger to the baby?  You start to struggle more wildly, finally a needle is brought out and they give you a shot, the lights go out…

Think this cannot happen?  H.R. 20 just passed the house.  Its sister bill, S. 324 is now before the Senate.  This bill mandates that ALL women be tested for postpartum depression/postpartum psychosis.  If you have read any of my posts on the FDA, found HERE and HERE, you will know that the FDA and big pharma are in bed together and that the drugs being used to treat ANY depression are very bad and can and do kill.  Not only that, but they are being repackaged and relabeled for other purposes not listed or tested for.  Watch the video on the first post, it may save your life or the life of someone you know…

These bills came about because of Melanie Blocker Stokes a new mother whose postpartum psychosis was so bad that she eventually killed herself.  Her story can be found here:

Neither bill states they will confiscate your baby should you prove to have postpartum depression or psychosis.  However, the mandatory testing will happen.  Doctors succumb all the time to the *perks* that drug companies give them for pushing their drugs.  Psychiatrists simply vote on a new disease and walla! we have a winner!  Can you imagine?  Voting on the symptoms of new diseases whether they exist or not???  Read the first post listed, it is a huge eye opener.  The video is the most damning thing I’ve ever witnessed!

Now imagine that the new mom is nursing her baby with these deadly drugs coursing through her system.  Imagine the problems this baby could encounter as its little body tries to cope with these deadly chemicals?  Have you ever noticed that *weight gain* is one of THE most common side effects of any drug?  And they say we eat too much.  Do you think that Congress isn’t getting paid a tidy sum to push this bill???

This Act may be cited as the ‘Melanie Blocker Stokes Mom’s Opportunity to Access Health, Education, Research, and Support for Postpartum Depression Act’ or the ‘Melanie Blocker Stokes MOTHERS Act’.(b) Programs for Postpartum Conditions-

(3) The development of improved screening and diagnostic techniques.

(4) Clinical research for the development and evaluation of new treatments.

(5) Information and education programs for health care professionals and the public, which may include a coordinated national campaign to increase the awareness and knowledge of postpartum conditions. Activities under such a national campaign may–

(A) include public service announcements through television, radio, and other means; and

(B) focus on–

(i) raising awareness about screening;

(ii) educating new mothers and their families about postpartum conditions to promote earlier diagnosis and treatment; and

Mar 30, 2009: This bill passed in the House of Representatives by roll call vote. The vote was held under a suspension of the rules to cut debate short and pass the bill, needing a two-thirds majority. This usually occurs for non-controversial legislation. The totals were 391 Ayes, 8 Nays, 32 Present/Not Voting.

This is all well and good, but considering how much money the FDA makes on approving drugs on the fast track, those that haven’t even completed testing yet, this is a very risky bill. Women who are nursing can pass these drugs directly to their new babies. Babies have never been tested to see if their bodies can withstand these drugs, nor what affect it may have on their developing bodies, brain, or metabolism.  Don’t kid yourself for a second that this is actually about caring for a Woman or her health.  This is all about the money!

Consider that all psychiatrists vote on the symptoms of ordinary people and then come up with a disease name for it.  This means that whatever questions will be asked are guaranteed to come up with a diagnosis of postpartum depression or postpartum psychosis.  And while I am saddened that this young woman died after giving birth, and do not deny that she had postpartum psychosis, testing all women for the same is not right.  Our rights to privacy are being erroded and invaded more and more.  Mandatory screening for this disease is not necessary.

Health Freedom Alliance

A sweeping government policy for all new births in the United States has just passed the House of Representatives and is now headed to the Senate. The Mother’s Act, if passed, will mandate that all new mothers be screened by means of a list of subjective questions that will determine if each mother is mentally fit to take their newborn home from the hospital. Just imagine that after your child is born, you are told that you can’t take them home since a multiple choice questionnaire wasn’t answered correctly. Just imagine being told that the only way you can take your child home is if you or your spouse goes into treatment or on anti-depressants which we know causes psychosis, delusions, and even homicidal thoughts. It just doesn’t make sense. Unfortunately, this bill is on a fast track–No public debate, no public disclosure of the broad impact on our society and that is why we need you to act now!

The Mother’s Act violates our Constitutional right to privacy and your right to liberty and it is just outright dangerous. That is why we need you to help stop this. We urgently need you to call and email each Senator on the HELP Committee and tell them you STRONGLY OPPOSE the MOTHER’S ACT and that you are OUTRAGED that there was NO public debate or disclosure on the impact this would have on our society as a whole.

These are the Senators to call:  These Senators can make a difference to this bill’s passage.

While Melanie’s story is heartbreaking, it is no call for every woman in this country to be forced into being tested for this disorder.  Free testing for patients feeling like something may be wrong can be done without forcing everyone into undergoing this test.  It is another invasion of our privacy and with the vague wording can lead to potential scams and kickbacks from doctors, nurses, and the psychiatrists that can’t be trusted.

I’m not saying that ALL psychiatrists are unscrupulous, but those who meet and vote on these new disorders and diseases are absolutely despicable.  Creating new diseases for personal profit is not only wrong, it is criminal.

It is estimated that 3,000 people a month die from these drugs.  The drugs given out for depression, whether that be postpartum or any other form of depression, actually intensify or cause the very symptoms they are supposed to cure.

3,000 people a month die from these drugs.  That is 36,000 people a year!

This video may save your life, or the life of someone you know. It is so very important that you watch and learn what the FDA, Big Pharma, and Psychiatrists are doing to We the People.  The word must be gotten out about the murdering of innocent people through the greed and avarice of these so called “professionals” and their ties to the huge drug conglomerates.

Why isn’t it being published that so many are dying from these drugs?  Why is the FDA immune to prosecution?  Why are psychiatrists allowed to vote on new diseases?  These questions need answers!

  1. Don’t be fooled. There is little that is different in this new bill. Psychiatric screening of pregnant women is in the works.

Ironically, the true story of Melanie Blocker Stokes should scare anyone from supporting this bill. She herself was diagnosed with postpartum, was prescribed a cocktail of psychotropic drugs, then electroshock treatment. After all this “psychiatric care,” she committed suicide.

Melanie’s is the perfect example of how dangerous and ineffective psychiatric treatment can be. Not to mention the children born addicted to psychiatric drugs or suffering from heart conditions like PPHN.

Politicians are only listening to the rich drug companies right now. Maybe it’s time we raised our voices even higher.

  2. I couldn’t agree with you more. I think the biggest fraud, or one of them, is the field of psychiatry where they get to vote on what symptoms will become the new disease. It is absurd to use a vote instead of cold hard science. They don’t do testing, no blood or biological tests of any kind. It is estimated that 3,000 people per month kill themselves or are killed by the medications these huge pharma labs come up with. I think they should all be prosecuted along with the FDA.

Melanie Blocker Stokes not only did not get the help she needed, she was drugged into suicide. Why isn’t her doctor up on charges? Why hasn’t the medication/s been pulled off the market? We’ll never get the answers, just more outrageous laws which help no-one and cost more lives. So much for change we can believe in…

  3. You are referencing last year’s bill. The current MOTHERS Act is different. You can read it here:

  4. Thank you!
