Tweeking The Truth

They all do it and say they don’t. Or they just *miss spoke themselves*, OK, but how many times can you do that and still be considered anything but a liar? Time was, at least when I grew up, if a person was known to bend the truth, they were as good as a liar.

Making yourself look good at another’s expense is also not a worthy quality in my book. But I’m no one, just a blogger. My opinion is just my own and only counts as much as that. I would hope that there were others who felt the same way I do, but I cannot say that for sure.

Still, when it comes to who should run this country for the next four years, I have some serious reservations with all of these candidates. I know you just never would have guessed, LOL. But in all seriousness, this is getting a bit much. They should all resign and we should be allowed some candidates with morals and purpose that is in line with the American Way, not the New World Order, (Obama), or Free Health Care, (Clinton), nor endless war, (McCain), but someone like Ron Paul who knows the Constitution and would have defended our Rights as stated in the Bill of Rights. But money talks and bull shit walks!

Some shining examples of today’s candidates follows with this article from ABCNews.com’s Political Punch

Obama Continues to Twist Truth About Twisting Truth

April 08, 2008 9:44 AM

Here are the facts.

* Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., has suggested he would be fine with an indefinite US troop presence in Iraq for 100 years or more “as long as Americans are not being injured or harmed or wounded or killed” — not a continued war for that long, but for a US troop presence there, the way the US continues to have troops in Japan more than 50 years after the end of World War II. Watch McCain make this comment HERE

* Generally when Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, has hit McCain for this remark, he has been accurate in his description.

* There have been at least three times when Obama has twisted what McCain said to portray McCain as advocating war in Iraq for 100 years or more: As recently as the end of March in Lancaster, Penn., Obama said, “you know, John McCain wants to continue a war in Iraq perhaps as long as 100 years.” At the Cleveland, Ohio, presidential debate, Obama said the U.S. is “bogged down in a war that John McCain now suggests might go on for another 100 years.” In Houston, Texas, on February 19, Obama said that McCain “says that he is willing to send our troops into another 100 years of war in Iraq.”

* Yesterday on MSNBC, Obama senior strategist David Axelrod said Obama “is not saying that Sen. McCain said we’d be at war for 100 years.” I suppose that depends on what the meeting of the word “is” is.

Didn’t I hear something like this before when then president Bill Clinton said, “Define sex?”

Senator Obama’s version of this is:

Senator Obama consistently incorporates McCain’s “hundred year war” into his stump. Today in Lancaster, PA, he mentioned it twice. “You know, John McCain wants to continue a war in Iraq perhaps as long as 100 years,” he told voters at his town hall meeting. He reinforces this by telling voters that he was against the war in 2002 and will end the war in 2009.

And then there is this from the Clinton Camp:

Clinton’s Make-Believe Health Care Horror Story

First it was sniper fire in Bosnia, now this…
Hillary Clinton has been telling a heartbreaking story for the past month, as recently as April 4, 2008. But it turns out that almost all the details of the story that she told were completely made up. Tragically, the woman and her child did die—but not for the reasons that Clinton said.

Here is the video so you can see it for yourself.

This is pathetic and deceitful. How anyone can consider these candidates worthy to be at the helm of this Nation is beyond me. Continued lies, continued deceptions, continued betrayal!

The height of insanity is when one continues to do the same thing and expects a different outcome.

Does anyone seriously think these people have anything but their own interests or agendas at heart here? Does anyone seriously believe that if they lie now they will cease once the popularity contest is over? Because that is really all this candidate stuff is, a popularity contest. Not One of these is worthy to sit in the Oval Office. And I sure as HELL wouldn’t trust a thing they had to say.

It seems to me these candidates belong more in a playground or boxing ring than in the Oval Office. Is this the Best we can do for this country? Is this the finest we have to offer? At the end of the day are these the people we really believe in? Just what is it that they say that rings true for you?

McCain least of all with his hands out to every special interest group for money. His whole political career has been one of lies. From his flip/flops on war to government oversite of the oil industry and more.

Are you seeing a pattern here? Do we really need another idiot speaking for America for another 4 years? We’ve just had almost 8 years of an illiterate linguist at the helm, do we need another 4?

Tornado blooper: Obama twists his words

By Bob Lewis | Associated Press

RICHMOND, VIRGINIA – RICHMOND, Va. — Barack Obama, caught up in the fervor of a campaign speech Tuesday, drastically overstated the Kansas tornadoes death toll, saying 10,000 had died. The death toll was 12.

Obama twists the truth?
i saw one of his ads and he said America’s healthcare sytem is broken blah blah and went on to say that when his own mother died of ovarian cancer she was more worried about paying her healthcare bills than getting well.. NOW i find out she died in Indonesia…. What does THAT have to do with the healthcare system in America????? He’s a real piece of work , using his dead mother and her agonizing death from ovarian cancer , to advance his own political agenda what a fake, I take personal offense to this, since i also have the same disease his mother died of.

The Obama effort seems to be something wholly different. The campaign and its marketing seems designed to evoke aspirational feelings that have virtually no political meaning whatsoever. This is what great brands do. They evoke feelings that have virtually zero connection to product attributes and specifications.

The subject is the Fortune 500 style marketing of the Obama Campaign. Barrack Obama’s effort is the first campaign to fully incorporate the ‘non-content, pro-feeling format’ of a good product marketing campaign.

The end result is that great brands are fungible. They can be all things to all people. The branding approach liberates Obama to be the candidate of the MoveOn wing and of national unity. That’s not a criticism. It is a compliment. Now we’ll see if it stands up in the land beyond the energized core, in the land of 50% plus one nationally, where evangelism alone is not enough. [My italics]

Yup, we’ve got a bunch of winners here. I worry about America, where she is going and who will take her where. I have zero faith in those running the popularity contest. They are better suited to the tabloids than the Nation’s Highest Office. But this is justmytruth.

  1. I’m sorry about your health issues. We are in trouble though if any of these candidates are elected. Not one of them is telling the truth all the time. Thank you for your comment. Stop back by anytime.

  2. i too have ovarian cancer and i took offense that obama used his dead mother in this way. The fact she died in Indonesia, has NOTHING to do with health care here i guess he “forgot” to mention that didn’t he? What a low life loser. If he’s elected we are all in big trouble.
