The Lies They Weave…

The candidates, the press, the bush administration, all seem to LOVE to use the soldiers as a means of saying, “See, they did this so you can do …” BULLSHIT! These men and women are fighting in wars because the bush administration said you will go to war and you will fight and die. Period, end of story. There isn’t any other altruistic motive here. They aren’t fighting for our freedoms, for our, or anyone elses voting rights, or for any other wonderful prosaic phrase, they are fighting because the commander and chief placed them in harms way.

I get so mad reading this stuff. It just pisses me off that ANY ONE could be dumb enough to swallow this crapola and not puke it back up or say, “what the hell?”. Obama is the latest to twist the truth to suit his purpose and it just makes my blood boil! How dare they lie like this about those who fight and die? But they do and sheeple just suck it up along with the Kool-Aid!

For example, take this article from AlterNet.org where Obama is speaking to a crowd about the wounded veterans and the VA not helping them register or be able to vote.

“You cannot lead this country into war, and then fail to care for those who have served, and for their families,” Obama said. “It starts with protecting the fundamental rights of our troops. They have fought across the world so that others have the right to vote, but here at home, the Bush Administration has refused to help wounded warriors register. There is nothing patriotic about denying wounded troops the ability to vote. It’s time for the VA to do the right thing. It’s time to reverse this shameful decision.”

Be aware that these veterans are probably recovering in VA hospitals which are not likely to be anywhere near where they live in the outside world. They are recovering at a hospital closest to where they would be stationed. That’s why they need the help to register and why they will then need more help to vote. Being disenfranchised by your government because it isn’t convenient for them to put up with extra personnel and equipment isn’t a good excuse by any means and just plain WRONG when it comes to our Veterans!

We didn’t go to war in Iraq OR Afghanistan for the purpose of freeing these people to vote! We went there for the lies of a pretender and betrayer of the Oval Office, a man who is supposed to be the commander and chief of the armed forces. We went to Iraq for OIL…

This country is notorious for backing regimes that are TERRIBLE when it comes to human rights. Just check any history book and you will see. And if you just CAN’T think of one to start with, how about Colombia??? Don’t try to make me swallow the idea that we are there to free them, or that OUR democracy works for everyone, when in fact, it doesn’t. Hell, right now it isn’t even working for US! Nor should we be forcing our ways on a country that doesn’t want it!!!

Now, I agree that the bush administration virtually forgets and/or ignores that a soldier exists once they are back on U.S. soil, once they are no longer committed to the military. And that is despicable in itself. But combined with all the other abuses in the bush administration what are you expecting really? Go for the root cause, then the symptom will be dealt with too. The root cause is the bush administration.

But that bullshit about the soldiers fighting in other countries for their right to vote? Show me a country right now that we have “helped” that has free elections. How come none of the media grilled Obama on that one? Sometimes I think they ought to be sued for the way in which they skew the news, or what passes for it. They let blatantly inaccurate statements like the one above go as if it was truth. Amazing!

And as if you needed further proof that the elections were already fixed, the outcome already assured, and your vote doesn’t count, the next part of the article made that PERFECTLY CLEAR!

In the second instance, the Bush Administration and House Republicans led to the likely defeat of an election reform bill, HR 5036, sponsored by Rep. Rush Holt (D-NJ) that would have helped many counties and states buy voting machines with a paper trail before the fall presidential election. The bill, which also would pay for audits to check the accuracy of vote counts, was the first election integrity vote to come before the House in years.

They don’t want voting integrity. They don’t want voting accuracy. And they sure as HELL don’t want you able to prove HOW you voted. Imagine if you can that the one that is overwhelmingly picked isn’t the one who gets elected??? Something like what happened in 2000 with the bush campaign?!?!?! Oh, not so good for the money men, huh? So let’s make sure that no paper trail exists. We can’t have the voters proving what they did! I was born but it wasn’t yesterday thank you very much!

People should take paper and pen with them to the voting booths, mark their voting preferences and keep them with them. Then, after the results come in, take those to an independent voting control and have them audited. Let’s see how accurate those voting machines really are, shall we? Of course, that is just because I trust our government so much you see…

The Republicans soundly voted this down making sure that the needed votes weren’t there. So let’s put these congressmen and/or women into the HALL OF SHAME!

You will notice that those states which have the largest populations of illegal aliens and illegal alien sympathizers were more inclined to vote AGAINST this measureJust how many illegal aliens do you think will manage to vote with their ability to get driver’s licenses without proving that they are United States Citizens???

Was your Congresswoman or man listed above? How does that make you feel right about now?

H.R. 5036: Emergency Assistance for Secure Elections Act of 2008

To direct the Administrator of General Services to reimburse certain jurisdictions for the costs of obtaining paper ballot voting systems for the general elections for Federal office to be held in November 2008, to reimburse jurisdictions for the costs incurred in conducting audits or hand counting of the results of the general elections for Federal office to be held in November 2008, and for other purposes.

I’m going to have to give Ron Paul a pass on this one as his voting record IS consistent with his views on government spending. But the rest of these clowns, SHAME ON YOU!!!

Now, since the federal government and CONGRESS won’t get voting machines that have paper trails, how about Americans get their own? I figure for around the cost of $3.00 per person we can buy our own voting machines for each precinct that have the ability to spit out paper so you can have your vote counted and make sure it IS your vote… Now, I could be wrong on the cost. The website I checked out was ES&S and their site isn’t the easiest to figure out. Everything is priced separately. No, they aren’t capable of giving you a package deal. And if it wasn’t Sunday I’d call them to get things all priced out. Unfortunately, it is Sunday.

Back to the Alternet.org article though, I had to just LAUGH at the next part of it considering Congress is getting ready to OK or has already Ok’d another several billion dollars in rebuilding and military funding for Iraq but they balked at the cost of voting machine integrity!

CQ reported that Rep. Vernon J. Ehlers (R-MI), the ranking Republican on the House Administration Committee — who supported the bill in committee — said many GOP House members opposed the bill because of its price tag. The Congressional Budget Office estimated its cost as high as $685 million after the committee approved the bill on April 2, although other estimates by its backers cited a much-lower figure.

According to VoteSmart:

Congress passed a resolution to balance the budget for the years 2008-2012 at $15.95 TRILLION DOLLARS… But they have a problem with $685 million for voting machines???

$266.31 million for the Department of Treasury for the Stimulus package…

Defense Authorizations Bill $688.60 billion.

Yup, I can really see just how worried these folks are about spending money. LIARS! They just don’t want YOU to have the ability to prove who ACTUALLY won the elections. Fancy that since after the elections we’ve recently experienced since 2000. Hmmmmmm, me thinks something stinks in these here United States of America and that CONGRESS is more a part of that stench than we can possibly imagine. Can you say BRIBES anyone?

  1. And since the Democrats are in Power in Congress, one should concur that Obama and the rest are just a bunch of liars.

  2. What? You think you can believe McCain? Neither candidate is worthy of being believed.
